ಪುಟ್ಟ ಜೇನ್ನೊಣಗಳು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮೈಲುಗಳ ದೂರ ಹಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ಗಿಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಮಕರಂದವನ್ನು ಅರಸಿ ತಂದು ರಾಣಿ ಜೇನಿನ ಮುಂದಾಳುತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನವನಿಂದಲೂ ಯಂತ್ರದಿಂದಲೂ ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಸಾದ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದಂತಹ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಎರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಸುಮಧುರ ಜೇನು ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ರೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ರಾಮ ಬಾಣ.

ಜೇನು ಎಂದಾಗ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಿನ ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನೆನಪಾಗುವುದು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಮ್ಷೀನಾರಾಯಣ ಕೋಟೆಯವರನ್ನು. ಸ್ವತಃ ಜೇನು ಕೃಷಿಕರಾಗಿ, ಜೇನು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸಕಲ ಮರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಮನದಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಕಲೆಯೂ ಸಿದ್ದಿಸಿತ್ತು.

ಆಯಾಸ ಎಂಬ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಹವ್ಯಕ, ಹಳೆಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ತುಳು ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಬಚ್ಚು, ಬಚ್ಚೆಲು’ ಸಮಾನ ಪದವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆಯಾಸವರಿಯದ ಜೇನ್ನೊಣಗಳು ವಲಸೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಗೂಡನ್ನರಸಲು ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಜೇನು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಚ್ಚೆಲಿಗೆ ಕುಳಿತ ಪುಂಡು(ಹಿಂಡು) ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ
A Bee Keeper want to shift these Colony in to his Bee Hive. He puts some drops of Honey to the frames of box. Honey helps to keep bees inside the hive until the Queen comes to their company.

Collecting the Bees by hand, much care is to be taken when handling Bees. A little bit of pain to the bee is  reciprocated by a bee sting and followed by a odd smell of venom and a causes some more stings.
Collected Bees are put into hive, until the Queen of the colony also gets inside.

Once Queen got in automatically all bees fly and get into the wooden honey box (hive).

‘ಮೊಜಂಟಿ’ ಇದು ಜೇನು ನೊಣಗಳ ಗಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಒಂದು ಅತೀ ಸಣ್ಣ ಪ್ರಕಾರ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜೇನು ನೊಣಗಳಂತೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಟುಕುವ ಅಂಗ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಕುಟುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದರ ತಂಟೆಗೆ ಏನಾದರು ಹೋದರೆ ಕುಟುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಗೂಡಿನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಬಾಕಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ತನ್ನ ದೇಹದಿಂದ ಸ್ರವಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಅಂಟಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಕಿವಿ, ಮೂಗು, ತಲೆಗೂದಲೊಳಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಇಲ್ಲದವರು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಪಲಾಯನ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ.

 

Indian Tar Honey (other nearby  names Melifon bees, Trigona bees, Stingles bees) lives in small holes of tree, small gap in between cracks of rocks, buildings etc., Bees of Indian Tar Honey are of the size of a  mosquito, or 1/10 of a ordinary Bee. It does not sting but, makes irritation by its sticking nature, it has some type of gum in its body.
 The Bamboo superated, honey stored at the end of each side, thereafter pollen is stored and the eggs kept in middle of nest.The eggs of small bees are linked to one another, just like a chain of pearls. The colony can shifted to a bamboo just by transferring their eggs. This type of Bees are called as MOJANTI in local Tulu language.  The pollen collected are made just like small balls and covere with a sticky wax. At an average each colony contains 200g pollen.  bee egg, tar honey, smallest bees, honey, indian bee, bee keeping, ayurvedic, Pollen stored  inside of a Tar Bee Colony, looks like yellow Pomegranate Fruit seeds.  

Honey stored inside of grapes like sticky wax capsule. 200ml to 1ltr of honey can be obtained from each colony every year. Some colonies have the honey stores of many years. Old honey can found in the form of cristals. Honey of these small bess are most valued in Aurvedha. Wax, and Gums obtained are used in wood varnishing work. After superating honey, the two parts of Bamboo, with eggs, pollen and bees joined each other and packed with rope.
